Hello my name is Kim and my fiance Andrew and I got engaged at Union Station on November 15, 2005. This is our engagement story.
It was November 15th, my girlfriend and my 3rd year dating anniversary, when I decided to "pop the question". I thought it would be nice to surprise her at union station just before she got on the Go train to head home from work.A friend of mine from work lives downtown so after making dinner reservations I went to his house to wait for her to finish work.I don't know what I was thinking because at 4:45 my friend asked "So what time does Kim get off work?""She gets off at 5" I replied calmly.Then he looked at me with fear in his eyes and we started the five block race to Union Station during rush hour.When I got to Union Station it was just after 5 and there were people everywhere and I had no idea how to find her.My friend lent me his cell phone and wished me luck as I ran around trying to call her.She finally answered after I don't know how many tries and told me she was on a train on track 5.I told her to get off the train and that I would meet her on the platform.When I finally got to her she was so confused and was trying to get me on the train before it left without us.That's when I explained that I thought it would be better if we had dinner in Toronto.Then she calmed down that's when I went down on one knee between 2 full commuter trains and asked her to marry me.She said yes and we went out to dinner to celebrate.
We will be married on September 22, 2007. It's funny because she always gets mad at me for being late all the time it was just fitting that I was almost to late for my own engagement.
