An Engagment Story By Diana Fattore
Fri Dec 1, 2006 - Sun Dec 31, 2006

Getting engaged is definitely one of the most important events in your life.

Life for me made a very eventful turn on June 13, 2006, when my highschool sweetheart and love of my life proposed to me.  The moment I had been waiting for all my life, from when I was a little girl, had finally become a reality, and I was loving it!

The day Felice, my fiancée, proposed was a very eventful one.  Not only did he propose, but it was also my convocation day at York; so where I celebrated the end of my student life at York University, I soon after celebrated the commencement of a bright future with Felice by the evening.

Felice was very calm, and cool all day. I hoped he had something up his sleeve for that day, but wasn’t too sure if a proposal would be it, although it definitely crossed my mind.  He came to my Graduation ceremony with my family, and we went for lunch.  Everything was normal.  We ran a few errands, which is when I started to get a little suspicious of his actions.

We spent the whole day together, until the evening where he brought me to

Eagle’s Nest Golf Course for dinner.  He brought my “Graduation” gift with him.  I was absolutely convinced that it was the Tiffany & Co. bracelet that I had my eye on, especially since he was carrying a Tiffany & Co. bag!

Finally, after dinner, Felice and I decided to have dessert on the terrace, where he let me open my gift, again…absolutely convinced it was the bracelet!  Everything was in place, the Tiffany & Co. bag, box, and sachet, as if it was right out of the shop! The only thing missing was the little white bow around the box, which he was sly enough to say that he cut it, not realizing you can just untie it, to show someone.

SO there I was…opening my gift.  I opened the bag, then the box, and finally held a sachet in my hand.  I noticed it was really light, and thought the bracelet must have fallen out.  I said to him, “Felice! It’s empty! The bracelet must have fallen out!”  He played it so cool and was like, “What are you talking about? Check again!”

So I did…and...THERE IT WAS! Not the bracelet, but the most beautiful ring I had ever seen…and it was for me!  Felice came to sit beside me and asked me to marry him! I instantly said YES!  I sent out a mass text message to all my family and friends to let everyone know. But they already knew! All our family and friends were waiting for us to come home so we could celebrate this great event with them.

Adding on to the excitement, two couples from inside noticed that he had proposed and started banging on the window and were cheering for us! It was so funny, I felt like I was at a hockey game.  They called us over to chat with them, and they bought us a bottle of champagne, that we insisted we share with them.  That was so nice of them.

Felice and I were so happy, and so; when we finished our dessert we went home to celebrate with our parents, siblings and friends.

I will never forget the eventful day of June 13, 2006.
